The Common Assessment Framework is rolling out across Cheshire following two successful pilots in Blacon and Crewe.CAF and ContactPoint are key components of the Every Child Matters Agenda. CAF can be used by staff across all agencies to assess a child's needs at the earliest stage and enable them to work together more effectively to deliver support. Cheshire will first have access to ContactPoint in October 2008. The national database will help staff identify other practitioners who are working with a child so that they can contact them to share information. For national information on CAF and ContactPoint including factsheets and guides for Managers and Practitioners, please follow the link http://www.everychildmatters.gov.ukCAF and ContactPoint update July 2008 CAF: Frequently Asked QuestionsCommon Assessment Framework (CAF) - The Procedures for CAF are in four sections 1) A Guide for Practitioners Working with Children, 2) The Continuum of Need Pathway, 3) Cheshire Procedures, 4) Glossary, CAF forms - These can be completed on line or downloaded.
